KOOMPANY (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates the ChatterPilot desktop application and related services (the “Services”). By downloading, installing, registering, or using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Service and license
1.1 Service. ChatterPilot is independent desktop software that translates conversations on messaging services connected through your own accounts. It supports Google translation, Luna AI translation with conversation context, and—during your free trial or with ChatterPilot Plus—use of your own provider API key. ChatterPilot is early-access software; features, supported platforms, and translation quality may change. Conversation history is stored on your computer, so backing it up is your responsibility.
1.2 License. Subject to these Terms, KOOMPANY grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to install and use the Services for your own conversations. You may not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, or reverse engineer the Services except where law gives you that right.
1.3 Third-party platforms. ChatterPilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp, Telegram, Tinder, Meta, Match Group, or their owners. Those services change without notice and may limit or suspend accounts that use third-party software. You accept that risk when you connect an account. Use the free trial to test compatibility on the computer and accounts you intend to use before paying.
2. Accounts, products, and payment
2.1 Registration. Accounts are created through Google sign-in. You agree that the registered identity is yours and that you are responsible for its security and activity.
2.2 Free trial. Every new account gets a 7-day free trial. The trial starts the first time you sign in to the ChatterPilot desktop app, not when you create your account on the website. No payment card is needed. During the trial you can use unlimited Google translation and your own provider API keys. The trial includes no Luna credits. When the trial ends, the ChatterPilot desktop app locks until you subscribe to ChatterPilot Plus. The same happens when a Plus subscription ends. While the app is locked, your saved chats stay on your computer, your messaging accounts stay linked, new messages keep arriving and are waiting when you subscribe, and your account and billing controls on this website stay available. Voice transcription runs locally and is available to signed-in users without translation credits.
2.2.1 One trial per person. You get one free trial per sign-in identity, per computer, and per linked messaging account. Signing in with a second Google account on the same computer, or linking the same WhatsApp number from another computer, continues the trial that already started instead of starting a new one. To recognise a trial that was already used, ChatterPilot keeps only one-way hashes (scrambled fingerprints that cannot be turned back into the original) of these anchors, never your email address or a raw device identifier. The Privacy Notice explains what is kept.
2.3 Purchased Luna. The available one-time packs are 1,000 Luna for $4.99, 3,000 for $9.99, and 10,000 for $19.99 in US dollars, before any tax shown by Stripe. Luna packs are an optional extra for ChatterPilot Plus. You can buy a pack only while you have an active Plus subscription, and you can use purchased Luna only while Plus is active. Purchased Luna does not expire and may use Luna Context. If your subscription ends, unused purchased Luna stays on your account and becomes usable again when you subscribe. Purchased Luna is not refundable, except where required by law. Each logical Luna operation costs one Luna per started 1,000 billable UTF-16 input characters, rounded once across the complete operation. Billable input is the trimmed selected source text, any effective custom translation preference, and the conversation context ChatterPilot actually retains. ChatterPilot's system instructions, default preference, provider output, retries, repairs, failed operations, cached translations, same-language or URL-only skips, Google translation, and offline transcription use no Luna. Live bursts and history selections follow the same meter.
2.4 ChatterPilot Plus. Plus costs $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year (about $5 per month, billed yearly) in US dollars, before any tax shown by Stripe. Plus includes unlimited Google translation, BYOK, and a 3,000-credit Luna allowance that refreshes monthly. Plus and purchased Luna use the same meter and context rules. Unused allowance does not become permanent. Monthly Luna is used first by default, but a live Plus member may choose purchased Luna first; the other balance can cover the remainder of the same translation. Plus renews at the selected cadence until canceled. When Plus ends, the ChatterPilot desktop app locks until you subscribe again, as described in 2.2. Unused purchased Luna stays on your account, and your account and billing controls on this website stay available.
2.5 Luna cost protections. Two adjustable settings are enabled by default. If any selected source message exceeds 1,000 characters, that complete live Luna operation is sent through Google, which uses no Luna credits, before a Luna reservation. If selected source plus candidate context exceeds 1,000 characters, Luna runs without external conversation context. The server independently recomputes the final scope and charge; changing the desktop cannot create free Luna.
2.6 Billing. Stripe handles checkout and recurring payment. Completing or viewing Checkout does not itself grant credits or access; ChatterPilot updates an account only after receiving and verifying Stripe's signed billing event. By subscribing to Plus, you authorize charges at the monthly or yearly cadence you select until cancellation. When a paid monthly member confirms a yearly upgrade, Stripe starts the yearly term immediately, credits the unused portion of the current monthly term, and charges the prorated net amount shown before confirmation. A yearly-to-monthly change waits until the paid yearly term ends. Price changes for an active subscription require advance notice.
2.7 Purchases and cancellation. The Billing & Cancellation policy is part of these Terms. Luna packs and Plus payments are final sale, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Canceling Plus stops its next renewal and does not refund the current paid term. Refund requests submitted through the contact form are reviewed individually; submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be waived.
3. Your messages
You are responsible for the accounts you connect and every message you send. ChatterPilot translates text at your instruction; you review the result and choose when to send it. Machine translation is performed on your content, on your behalf.
4. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Services unlawfully; for harassment, deception, impersonation, spam, or unsolicited bulk outreach; to evade platform safety controls; to process conversations without authority; to violate sanctions or export controls; or to damage, overload, or impair the Services.
5. Intellectual property
The software, branding, design, and infrastructure belong to KOOMPANY and are protected by intellectual-property law. Your messages remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to perform translations you request, secure the Services, and meet legal obligations.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KOOMPANY DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. MACHINE TRANSLATION CAN BE WRONG. DO NOT RELY ON IT FOR LEGAL, MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, OR SAFETY DECISIONS. WE DO NOT WARRANT CONTINUED THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM COMPATIBILITY OR RECOVERY OF DATA STORED ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KOOMPANY AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR THIRD-PARTY ACCOUNT RESTRICTION. TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY US DOLLARS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS.
8. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify KOOMPANY and its officers, employees, and agents against claims and reasonable costs arising from messages you send, accounts you connect, or your breach of these Terms or third-party platform terms, except to the extent caused by our breach.
9. Disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of KOOMPANY's principal place of business, except where mandatory consumer law applies. Contact us first and attempt informal resolution for 30 days. Unresolved disputes shall be settled by individual binding arbitration, except for eligible individual small-claims actions. Class actions and class-wide arbitration are waived where lawful. You may opt out within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by using the contact form.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, abuse, security risk, legal necessity, or material breach. You may stop at any time and delete your account. Deletion becomes permanent after the stated 30-day recovery window. Ending Plus does not remove purchased Luna.
11. General
If a provision is unenforceable, it is limited as necessary and the rest remains effective. These Terms, the Billing & Cancellation policy, and the Privacy Notice are the entire agreement. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them with notice in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
12. Changes
We may modify these Terms. Material changes are announced before taking effect, and the effective date is updated. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
